TAKES A RECORD 19 NOMINATIONS AT WAVE AWARDS
The Midpeninsula Media
Center (the ÒMedia CenterÓ) proudly announces that nineteen (19) locally
produced programs have been nominated as finalists by the Western Alliance
Video Excellence (WAVE) awards.
Since its inception in 1988, the WAVE awards have recognized and
promoted the best in local community programming.
Winners will be announced at
the WAVE Awards Ceremony and Reception at the annual ACM Western Region
Conference to be held Friday, October 26, 2007 in Ventura, California. The
western region includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada and New
Mexico.
3rd Eye, produced at the Media Center by Jesse Norfleet and
Richard Tatum, took top honors last year, and is up again in the Community
Event Category. Three
programs were double-nominees this year: NealÕs Place produced by Kenny Neal, Dianne De LaetÕs Art 2
Art and a youth produced PSA: The
Happy Hybrid and the Polluting Pick-Up. The Sport of Motherhood produced by Genevieve Hutcheson Butcher was a triple nominee. The Media Center is particularly proud
that grade-school brother and sister Austin and Arianna Tamaddon received 3
nominations between them in the Programs by Youth and PSA categories. The complete list of nominees is as
